The 2022 Call for New Members is now closed!

The Ghana Young Academy (GhYA) seeks applications from outstanding young scholars working in any research-based discipline, including the sciences, engineering, social sciences, the arts and humanities.

The Ghana Young Academy is committed to promoting science and projecting young scholars. Applicants should be in the early to mid- years of their careers.
The GhYA encourages applications from all qualified candidates irrespective of their social, cultural, religious, economic backgrounds or gender.
Each GhYA member is expected to attend the Annual General Meeting each year and is also expected to actively contribute to the organisation’s programmes; a time commitment is thus required on each member’s part.
In the event that applicants are selected as new GhYA members, they should be available to attend the next Annual General Meeting in 2023.

Application Process

Applications should be completed personally by each candidate.
Applicants may apply online or complete and email a downloadable application form.
All completed applications should include the following:
1. CV
Maximum length of 3 pages. CVs should summarize your most significant publications and achievements. Any information beyond the 3 page limit is highly likely to be ignored by reviewers.
2. Letter of support
Please arrange for the submission of at least one letter of support for your application. Your referee(s) should be familiar with your research career. Letters should be written personally by your referee(s) in their own words. Please make available the document “Instructions for Referees” (below) to your referees. Letters of support can be uploaded with the online application or be submitted to info@ghanayoungacademy.org either by yourself or directly by the referee.
